The previously pristine ocean that surrounds Antarctica, untouched and unexploited by people and corporations, is being sucked dry of its resources pushing species like blue whales to the brink of extinction.
The “Gold Rush” of the Southern Ocean is centered around one species. Unfortunately, it’s the same species that feeds all of Antarctica’s immense marine life, such as penguins and blue whales. That species is krill, a tiny crustacean.
Lifeline Antarctica represents a network of millions of people across the world that are calling on corporations like Walgreens Boots Alliance, Target, Safeway and Walmart to drop krill based products from their shelves.
